If you were like me, a Browns fan, you were on cloud nine yesterday after our home team beat the rival Steelers Sunday in a playoff game. This was the first time the Browns won a playoff game since 1994 under head coach Bill Belichick.
Although I never played organize football, I am a great fan and truly enjoy learning about the history of the game.
The Pro football Hall of Fame is a true gem here in our backyard in Canton Ohio. There is no other place to better celebrate the values of commitment, integrity, courage, respect, and excellence. Every year when I listen to the speeches of the gold jacket recipients, I realize that they have truly taken these values to heart.
My favorite part though is their vision. It states “it’s not just the past, it’s the future; it’s not just about Canton, it’s a world; it’s not just a great museum for football, it’s a message of excellence EVERYWHERE “
Messages that football teaches such as “Do your job“ and “Be accountable“ easily translate to our personal and professional lives.
Coincidentally, the values of the Pro football Hall of Fame are, in no small measure, the values we should also expect from our political leaders.
Stay well!
